Love and Marriage...

...sometimes it doesn't go together like a horse and carriage.

Most mornings at approximately 10am, my neighbors wage a war of words against one another. Lovely--this is NOT a petit plaisir. They scream and yell at such a volume that I can hear them across the parking lot, as I sit in my office.

Sometimes, in our own marriages, in our own relationships, seeing (or in this case, hearing) others who are miserable reminds us how truly fortunate we are.  It's a sad fact, but indeed true: you do have to taste the bitter to enjoy the sweet.

On this very ordinary Wednesday, my neighbor's relationship may be dissolving, but I've never felt more keenly connected to my husband.
It is one of the greatest gifts in life to observe your marriage improve with age.  Hubby and I met when I was nineteen and married at twenty-two.  Though I never thought I could be more in love with him than on our wedding day, I am quickly learning that as we grow as people, our marriage evolves alongside.  Our love deepens and becomes more precious with age. Let's hope someday my crazy neighbors can say the same.
