Pink Frenchie's Favorite Things

Every Christmas season, Oprah produces a magazine and an entire show dedicated to her favorite things---the goodies, some grand, some ordinary, that she will be giving during the holidays.

Oprah I am not, but I have gathered a few of my own favorite things to share with you. (spoiler alert: if you are Pink Frenchie's mother or mother-in-law you may want to skip this post...it is kind of like peaking into Santa's bag)

MarieBelle Aztec Hot Chocolate
Decadent chocolate with a touch of chili spice, this hot cocoa mix is made of bits of actual chocolate.  Hardly your average Swiss Mix powder, this blend produces a deeply rich and flavorful beverage befitting a cold winter day by the fire.
Encyclopedia of the Exquisite
A delicious little book arranged into snippets of stories.  The encyclopedia is an anthropological and archeological study of everything from badminton to Champagne to cupids.  Arranged to be read in any order, each brief tale focuses on an ordinary yet exquisite object or idea and its exceptional origins.

I've long been a fan of this online treasure.  Iomoi produces a variety of personalized goodies from stationary to lucite trays.  Among my favorites are their heavy glass paperweights which come in myriad lovely colors and patterns.

Kimono Rose Lotion
This uniquely delicate fragrance will delight any lady in your life.  The packaging is equally chic as the scent.
Voluspa Candles
Voluspa soy candles are among the most fragrant you can find.  Crisp champagne is an especially festive scent to help you ring in the New Year.  These candles are contained in lovely glass votive holders or chic tins.
Sofia Blanc de blanc
Did someone say champagne?  My go-to hostess gift is a bottle of Sofia Coppola's Blanc de blancs.  A delish and crisp sparkling wine, the elegant bottle even comes packaged in its own crinkly pink cello wrapper!
Taschen's Travel Books
These tomes are perfect coffee table books for the travel-lover in your life.  More than merely offering a litany of hotel or restaurant suggestions, these fanciful books are a joy to read.
Frank Lloyd Wright Legos
We can't forget the kiddies, now can we?!?  The Met Museum online store offers a bounty of educational and artistic gifts for kids of all ages.  I adore this Lego set which reconstructs Frank Lloyd Wright's renowned Fallingwater house.

What are your favorite gifts this holiday season?  What are your favorite finds to share with your friends and family?

  2. Pink Frenchie,

One of Oprah's FAV things is the Lemon Cake by Just Desserts which I found at Whole Foods. Last weekend was a friend's birthday and I served it for dessert with fresh strawberries. Absolutely DIVINE!
