Spooky Spectacular

Halloween is my all-time favorite holiday.  I am not sure whether it's the fantasy of pretending to be someone else for a night or the delight of wearing fancy, frilly clothes or the delicious joy of buckets of free candy.  The sights and sounds and smells of Halloween trigger such nostalgia for me.

When I was a little girl, my mom and I would think for months in advance about my costume.  Whether I was decked out in stacks of bangles and bohemian skirts as a gypsy or in a black curly wig and hoop skirt as Scarlett O'Hara, I took my Halloween attire very seriously.
Now as an adult, I take equal delight in this time of year (though this hot week in California has been more awful than autumn).  I relish that moment at the end of September when it is "seasonally appropriate" to bring out my sparkly glittered witches and pumpkin candle holders and dishes of candy corn.

This fall, I am dreaming of a spooky chic Halloween party:
Candy bar, anyone?
An outdoor pumpkin chandelier, how spooky!
Black touches are always a requisite part of Halloween festivities
Halloween-fabulous table goodies
Ghoulish goodie bags
